City Wide Open Studios is a month-long event that takes place each October in New Haven. There are several weekends where artists' studios are open to the public during this month. There is a main exhibit at Artspace in New Haven where each participating artist gets to display one piece of work.
The opening night for the show was Friday night. I attended the event with my mom and my friend Caleb. It was pretty packed, though it seemed crazier when I did the event two years ago. That may have also been due to the fact that I worked at Artspace during that time. I got to see the art in advance, so I went more to mingle and pretty much to be seen. I've also been doing some volunteering for the event which has been interesting, especially in relation to my experience working there in the past. I am glad to be participating again this year because it is a fun and very publicized event.
More photos from the opening are located here
